Dana: The teachings and meditations of this retreat are offered by the teachers on the basis of 'Dana' (=donation). Buddhist teachings are traditionally offered as 'Dana', which is a Buddhist term referring to the spirit and practice of generosity. The fee you pay to participate in this retreat enables us to provide food and the venue. The teachers receive no payment for their instruction. You are invited to help support their continuing efforts by contributing to their livelihood. There will be an opportunity at the end of the day for participants to give to the teachers from the heart whatever feels appropriate.

The fee for this daylong retreat is €25, which covers the lunch and administrative costs.

In this daylong retreat, we will practice silent mindfulness meditation as well as the contemplations of Insight Dialogue to investigate the nature of the joyful heart and to cultivate a more nourishing awareness of this ever-present quality of being. Insight Dialogue is a practice of exploring the Dharma while meditating in dialogue with others.

Insight Dialogue brings mindfulness directly into the moment of interpersonal contact. We begin to notice the reality of the present moment instead of our own worries about the future or our regrets about the past.  As judgments, anxiety, and aversion diminish, the mind can rest in the calm and joyful openness of awareness.  Compassionate observation of stress opens a pathway to insight and true freedom.

Kind care for the body and walking meditation will be interwoven with guided contemplations and silent practice.
