Together we will investigate the Buddha’s teaching on how stress manifests and how we can be more free and relaxed.

This is a relational meditation practice. We give each other the gift of mindfulness and inquiry into this shared human experience.

We will learn to practice mindfulness and concentration while listening and speaking in small and large groups. We will contemplate the teachings of the Buddha on craving and letting go.

Insight Dialogue offers 6 very practical guidelines helping us to recognize and release our stressful habits while being alone and with others.

Just as in insight meditation, this interpersonal meditation practice is based on the early Buddhist teachings of the Theravada tradition.

Bart van Melik

Bart van Melik is a guiding teacher at the Community Meditation Center in New York City. He has been teaching Insight Dialogue and silent meditation since 2009, and has been trained by Joseph Goldstein, Carol Wilson, Gregory Kramer, and Phyllis Hicks.
